Physics 30S. So today is Monday, October 2, and I just wanted to give you a quick update about what we did and what is to come in the next few class or so. We are studying Uniform Motion and Kinematics graphs. We studied P/T and V/T graphs and the meanings of their slopes and area between the line and the x-axis for V/T graphs.
On Tuesday we will continue this discussion to include curved P/T graphs and introduce the concept of acceleration and its associated graph. That will be followed by an in-class assignment based on those items.
In relation to the kinematics graphs, we will develop a few of the “Big Five” kinematics equations that use t, v1 , v2, d, and a. Finally, we will use our Big Five to solve problems that involve Uniform motion.
Graphs of Kinematics

Ok here are three videos that match up with my lesson that I gave on Tuesday evening. Now the concepts are all the same but you may see a very slight terminology change or numerical change. They are 99% the same, though. Enjoy😊
Part 3 is omitted for now – Determining instantaneous velocity
from a curved Position-Time graph. We’ll do that on Tuesday Oct. 3.
